April 2015 – March 2016
Hvid[mə] Archive first appeared in The Royal Cast Collection‘s library in 2015, where it was available to the visitors at the museum. The archive emerged as a critical response to the cast collection’s unique and paradoxical exhibition in the historic Vestindisk Pakhus at Toldboden in Copenhagen.
The warehouse was built in 1781 as a storage for colonial goods produced in the Danish colonies and shipped back to Denmark by the West India Trading Company. These products were produced by slaves in the Danish colonies in the Caribbean.
